Accessible Facilities Targeted at Persons with Disability on Campus:
There are 38 accessible washrooms located in the academic block, dining block, and faculty office block.
Two hostel rooms equipped with accessible facilities have been provided for students with locomotive disabilities.
Braille signage has been incorporated into the elevator buttons.
Two wheelchair-friendly golf carts are available on the JGU campus
Disability Access Scheme:
The DSC has recommended the support of academic, planning, and development mentors to 22 DSC-registered students during the Spring semester of 2025. DSC also has a provision for a faculty mentor who serves as a single point of contact for students who may require support. In the previous semester, 3 students were assigned this support.
Disability Awareness Campaigns/Events in the past year:
On September 29, 2024, the DSC successfully hosted an online Sign Language Workshop.
On October 16, 2024, DSC organised two impactful Wellness Workshop sessions on Exam Stress Management and Time Management.
The DSC has organised Barfi movie Screening on 31 March 2025. This movie was based on awareness generation on Deaf-Mute and Autism.
The DSC has organised The Theory of Everything movie Screening on 24 April 2025. This movie was based on awareness generation on Motor Neuron Disease.
A Guest lecture on Digital and Medical Regimes of Categorising Disability was organised on 18 August 2025. Prof. Vandana Chaudhry from The City University of New York – College of Staten Island was the resource person.
The DSC has organised a movie screening for ‘Hitchki’ on 29 August 2025. This movie was based on awareness generation on Tourette Syndrome.
From September 2025, the DSC circulates one poster per week about creating awareness about the disability issues among the JGU community.
