Adequate accommodation for people with disabilities

At O.P. Jindal Global University, we are committed to ensuring an inclusive and enabling environment for all students. We provide comprehensive accommodations for persons with disabilities in accordance with national and international guidelines, including the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act (2016), Mental Health Care Act (2017), and UGC recommendations.

Physical Accessibility

  1. Wheelchair-accessible infrastructure: ramps, lifts, tactile pathways, and designated restrooms
  2. Dedicated spaces and modified housing for students with mobility needs
  3. Accessible signage and digital library services, including the Abhigamya section for visually impaired students

Academic Adjustments

  1. Individualized support through the Disability Support Committee (DSC)
  2. Academic modifications: scribes, extra exam time, note-taking support, flexible attendance
  3. Use of assistive technologies such as screen readers and speech-to-text tools
  4. Inclusive and Accessible Library -  The Global Library has an exclusive section, Abhigamya or Accessible Library, for members of the JGU community with special needs. Abhigamya is equipped with devices and software to convert text to digital braille, and audio books and vice versa. The service can be used for online learning as well. Any library material can be converted into digital braille. Students will however be required to arrange their own digital braille reading/writing devices.
