Biography

Zara Hasnain is a Lecturer at the Jindal School of Government and Public Policy (JSGP) at O.P. Jindal Global University. She brings a wealth of practical experience and academic rigor to her role, holding a Master's degree in Public Policy from JGU (2017) and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science (Hons.) from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi (2015).

Prior to joining JSGP, Zara gained valuable experience across diverse sectors, including education, sanitation, and rural development. She has held significant positions such as Smart City Fellow with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and Zila Swachh Bharat Prerak with the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation. Her field work has spanned across Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the Mewat region of Haryana, where she actively contributed to women’s empowerment initiatives in collaboration with the Sehgal Foundation.

Zara's experience also includes a research role with the ASER-Pratham team, where she focused on education policy. Furthermore, she has provided political consultancy, demonstrating her broad understanding of policy and governance.

Currently, Zara serves as the Lab Coordinator at the Policy Research Lab at JSGP. Her teaching portfolio includes a range of courses such as Gender and Development, Public Finance, Program Design and Evaluation, Identity Policy, and Democratic Governance. Her ongoing work reflects a deep commitment to the intersection of policy, development, and fostering positive social change.
