Biography

Dr. Kranthi Nanduri is an Assistant Professor at the Jindal School of Banking & Finance, and she is also serving as an Associate Director at the Jindal Institute of Haryana Studies, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU), Sonipat, Haryana, India. Her research focuses on exploring diverse trajectories of agrarian and non-agrarian accumulation processes in India and Asia. She is interested in political economy of informality and accumulation and the role of state, markets, and other institutional mechanisms in shaping rural ecosystems and driving rural capital formation, economic growth and entrepreneurship. She teaches courses in Economics and Political Economy at JGU. 

Kranthi pursued her PhD in Economics from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and a five-year Integrated Master of Arts in Economics from University of Hyderabad. She was awarded ‘Taiwan Fellowship’ in 2023, and she was a visiting scholar at the National Chengchi University in Taipei, Taiwan during July-December 2023. She was also a visiting scholar at China Agricultural University Beijing at College of Humanities and Development (COHD) and College of International Development and Global Agriculture (CIDGA) during July 2025. She is a member of Collective of Agrarian Scholar-Activists of South (CASAS), a network of agrarian scholar-activists from the global south.
