Biography

Dr. Finita Glory Roy is an accomplished academician and rehabilitation professional with over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and student mentorship. She serves as an Associate Professor at the Jindal Institute of Behavioural Sciences, O.P. Jindal Global University, where she contributes extensively to curriculum development, interdisciplinary research, and student-led initiatives. She holds a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science & Special Education, with her doctoral work focused on occupational stress among teachers of children with hearing impairment. In addition, she holds a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Science, a Master’s in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management.

Dr. Roy is known for designing and delivering engaging academic content, mentoring students, and creating inclusive learning environments. Her teaching philosophy integrates research and real-world application, aiming to foster holistic student development. She has supervised several Master’s level dissertations, guided one doctoral scholar to completion, and is currently supervising two PhD candidates. Prior to her current role, she worked as an Educational Counsellor and Resource Specialist at Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chennai, where she implemented individualized education programs and provided psychosocial support to students. As an Assistant Professor at the PG and Research Institute of Rehabilitation Science & Special Education, Holy Cross College, she played a key role in academic planning, internship supervision, and field research. A certified Rehabilitation Counsellor recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India, Dr. Roy has also obtained international certification in healthcare education from Hogeschool Zyud University, The Netherlands.

She has been consistently invited as a resource person for training programs targeting school leaders, educators, and professionals from both public and private sectors. Her research focuses on disability rehabilitation ,empowerment interventions, resilience strategies, and inclusive practices to promote social inclusion and well-being for diverse populations. She has presented her work at national and international platforms and has published widely in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Roy’s scholarly contributions bridge behavioral science and disability studies, with a strong emphasis on promoting well-being, social inclusion, and evidence-based practices. Her commitment to academic excellence and community engagement continues to inspire her students and colleagues alike.
