Dr. Mukta Jain is a researcher in economics, interested in the domain of poverty, automation, machine learning and macro-econometrics. She is a Ph.D. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. As a Commonwealth Split-Site Scholar, she conducted a part of her Ph.D. research at the University of Bath, England from 2024-25.

Previously, she has worked as a Visiting Faculty in Ashoka University and Casual Teaching Assistant at the University of Bath. In her academic life, she has always been an academic merit scholarship holder and obtained a grant from RCS Bath in 2025 for carrying out her research works.
Mukta has collaborated with scholars in computer science at University College Dublin, Ireland, and Wageningen University, Netherlands. Her work has been published at NeurIPS, a leading conference in computer science, as well as in a high-impact academic journal.
