Biography

Prof. Amit Upadhyay is an Associate Professor at the Jindal Global Law School. He graduated with a B.A., LL.B. (Hons) degree from Amity Law School, New Delhi, with specialisation in International Humanitarian Law. He was awarded a prestigious DAAD scholarship to pursue further studies in European and International Law. He earned his Master's degree in International Business, Competition, and Regulatory Law from Freie Universita t, Berlin, Germany, as a DAAD Scholar. During his master's studies, he addressed legal issues related to cartels, structural links, private enforcement, and various other contemporary topics in international business and competition law.

Amit has previously worked at the Competition Commission of India in New Delhi, where he conducted policy advocacy and research on issues related to the effective enforcement of competition law. He then joined Amity Law School, Noida, as an Assistant Professor to pursue an academic career. He has been awarded several scholarships and fellowships to participate in academic conferences and programs worldwide by organisations such as the Robert Bosch Foundation, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), BMZ, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, State Bank of India, and the International Institute of Human Rights, Strasbourg, among others. He has represented India in various summits on leadership, democracy, and human rights organised by the Hesselbein Global Academy, the Council of Europe, and the European Parliament, among others. He was awarded the “Judge Nagendra Singh Memorial Award" and the Gold Medal in the Postgraduate Diploma Course in Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, offered by the Indian Academy of International Law and Diplomacy, ISIL, New Delhi.

As a DAAD Young Ambassador, he has been working towards strengthening Indo-German academic exchange. His academic and research areas include constitutional law, technology law, international law, public policy, and good governance. He nurtures a keen interest in designing and implementing knowledge-sharing and advocacy strategies to raise awareness about inclusion, sustainable development and good governance. He enjoys playing and watching sports in his free time and is also a travel enthusiast.
