Biography

Prof. Nidhi Sharma is an Associate Professor of Law at Jindal Global Law School and Associate Dean, Examinations and Assessments at Jindal Global Law School.  Prof. Sharma teaches the core courses on Constitutional Law and an elective on Public Employment and Service Law Litigation at Jindal Global Law School. In addition to her academic and administrative responsibilities, she is associated with the Centre for Constitutional Law Studies under the aegis of Jindal Global Law School as Assistant Director. She is also the Assistant Editor with Jindal Global Law Review.

After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in law (B.A.LL.B.) from Indraprastha University, Delhi, she obtained her LL.M., specialising in Constitutional and Administrative Law, from National Law Institute University, Bhopal. In 2016, she was awarded the Junior Research Fellowship by UGC-India and has qualified for the UGC NET in Law.

Before joining Jindal Global University in 2020, she had a teaching experience of more than three years as an Assistant Professor, where she was associated with, apart from the core courses on Constitutional Law, courses such as Service Law, Affirmative Action, Hindu Law and Mohammedan Law.

Her research primarily focuses on the contemporary issues emerging from the interpretation of the Constitutional Law, particularly on asymmetries in the federal structure of the Indian Constitution.  She has researched and written on the development of Digital Data Protection Laws in India, the Abrogation of Article 370 and subsequent reorganisation of the state of Jammu and Kashmir and the federal asymmetries.
