We organize legal literacy camps to make people aware about their rights, schemes by the government, etc. We also host conferences, workshops to promote Clinical legal education. Our Clinic follows a three grid structure model to provide legal aid.
Our Model - Three Grid Structure
GRID 1: : This grid will take up cases involving claims, initiate proceedings by sending notices to opposite parties for settlement or redressal and try to resolve the matter by using alternative dispute resolution methods and educating the parties.
GRID 2: This grid will deal with cases that would not be resolved in Grid 1. Under this grid, the cases will either be referred to lawyers or relevant state run legal services authorities. A panel of pro bono lawyers (those who are willing to take up cases at affordable/reasonable fee) has been created. This grid will also aid needful defendants in criminal matters. The Legal Aid Clinic will monitor all cases till they reach their reasonable conclusion.
GRID 3: This grid will monitor and support the functioning of various forums, institutions and bodies that intend to promote rights of individuals and address situations in case of any violations. Some of these bodies include the consumer council, human rights institutions, information commissions, parliamentary committees, offices of ombudsman, etc.
