1. Where is O.P Jindal Global University located?

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is located in Sonipat Narela Road, Near Jagdishpur village Sonipat, Haryana (NCR of Delhi), India. Some of the nearest public transport options are: Nearest Airport – Indira Gandhi International Airport (50 km from JGU). Nearest Bus Stand in Delhi – Maharana Pratap Inter State Bus Terminal.

Nearest Railway Station of Delhi – Old Delhi Railway Station. Nearest Metro Station – Haiderpur Metro Station of Delhi. Haiderpur is 45 minutes away from the University, and we provide a regular shuttle service to and from this metro station.

2. Is JGU a recognized university? Is it recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)?

O.P. Jindal Global (Institution of Eminence Deemed to Be University) is a non-profit global university established in 2009 by the Government of Haryana and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The university has received the highest grade ‘A’ by National Accreditation & Assessment Council (NAAC). In 2019, JGU was awarded the prestigious ‘Institution of Eminence’ status by the Government of India.

3. What are some of the key features of the O.P Jindal Global University?

JGU is the first private university in India and among very few worldwide which maintains a 1:9 faculty-student ratio and has rich faculty strength both from India and worldwide possessing outstanding academic qualifications and industry experiences.

JGU is a research-intensive university, which is deeply committed to its core institutional values of interdisciplinary and innovative pedagogy, pluralism, globalism and international engagement.

4. How many courses does JGU offer?
JGU has 12 schools which include 52 academic programmes. The university has 325+ international collaborations to enable its students to study in other leading global universities and institutions through short-term, semester exchange and dual degree programmes. 5. Is it mandatory to stay on campus?

Yes, JGU is a fully residential University, Students of all qualification levels and programmes must stay on campus to avail of student life activities and engage themselves in activities apart from their regular classroom curriculum, including guest lectures, events, etc.

However, during this pandemic, we ensured the safety of our students, faculty members, and staff by transitioning classroom teaching to the online mode. 

6. How can I plan a visit to the Campus? Please suggest me the date?

A Visit to the university can be planned in discussion with your admissions counsellor by scheduling the date and time of the visit. 7. What is the security system for monitoring students’ movement inside the campus?

The safety and security of our students are of the utmost importance to JGU. The campus has 160 well-trained male and female security staff ensuring day as well as night patrolling. Strong perimeter walls with security lights with over 1080 CCTV cameras at strategic points round-the-clock ensure safety at all levels. Any unauthorized entry/exit is monitored by a dedicated CCTV control room.

Students have to mandatorily attain a gate pass for stepping out of the university campus. For doing so, they just have to raise a request on the CollPoll app, following which their parents/guardians get a notification which they can choose to approve or reject. Post approval form the parent/guardian, the gate pass request will be forwarded to the warden. Once the warden approves, student will be allowed to leave the campus.

Students residing in the vicinity of the university campus can travel back home during the weekends. For doing so, they have to follow the procedure and get a gate pass approved by the parents/guardians for the duration of their visit home.

8. Can students travel back home during weekends?
The option to travel back home on weekends is available. However, due to the on-going pandemic, the students are suggested to stay inside the campus for the entire semester.
9. What are the timings of classes at the university?
Classes are usually conducted between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. However, late evening and weekend classes are also conducted as per course requirements.
10. Should students bring their laptops?
 Possessing and carrying a laptop is a must for all students in all the courses. Almost all courses require the constant use of laptops in the form of preparation for assignments, exams, or assignments.
11. Do students have the option to pursue extra-curricular and co-curricular activities?
JGU has an active student life department that is committed to engaging students outside of the classroom. The university has over 50 student-run clubs & societies, state-of-the-art multimedia auditoriums, multi-purpose performing arts theatre and much more. Here, you can be part of a dynamic culture filled with endlessly inspiring events, clubs and facilities, that make space for you to celebrate your talents, explore your interests, make new friends, enjoy life, chase new dreams and find yourself.
12. How is the hostel facility at Jindal Global University?
There are separate blocks for male and female students. Each block has corridors, open spaces and common rooms, reading rooms and pantry facilities. They follow top-rated health and hygiene parameters. Each common room is equipped with a TV, music system, pool table, table- tennis, billiards table, foosball table and comfortable seating for the students. Laundry facility is also available to all resident students.
13. What sports facilities are available on campus?
Sports and fitness activities are an integral component of student life at JGU. The university’s students engage in regular practice sessions under the supervision of qualified coaches. They also participate in various Sports Leagues and the Magnus National tournament. JGU has a full-fledged Department of Physical Education which provides state-of-the-art sports facilities in: Cricket, Basketball, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Pool/Snooker, Chess and Carrom Swimming. In addition to all this, there is gym facility as well for students. The gymnasium has been divided into various sections like cardio, strength, and stretching areas. Equipment include treadmills, cross trainers, spinners, strength stations, etc. In addition to this, we also have tie up with SAI (Sports Authority of India) for certain sports where students can practice sports like shooting and Javelin throw.
14. How is the library at Jindal Global University?
Jindal Global University is spread over 10,000 square feet of area in the T-2 Block of Academic Building. Spacious reading halls, most modern IT infrastructure provide the right ambience for reading and research in the Library. The library has a collection of over 70,000 print volumes and a plethora of electronic resources. The print collection includes books, monographs, research reports, law reports, and back volumes of periodicals, etc. Besides academic reading books, it has a huge collection of books on leisure reading as well as on soft skill development. 15. Are there any tuck shops on campus? If not, how far do students have to travel to purchase household goods and other essentials?
The Campus has several general stores that are accessible to students to purchase daily essentials. Additionally, JGU also has a world-class food court – Biswamil Bistro, outlets at this food court include brands such as Dominos, Subway, Keventers, Punjab Grill, Bercos, 34 Chowreengee Lane, Breakfast Round the Clock, Moti Mahal, etc.
16. Does JGU have Medical facilities on campus?
JGU is equipped with a permanent health centre with all the quintessential equipment and round-the-clock assistance for emergencies. The Health Centre has medical professionals including doctors, nursing staff, and physiotherapists. The centre has separate male and female wards, consultation rooms, intensive care unit, counselling rooms, meditation rooms, and sample collection rooms. The Emergency Room is fully equipped with high-quality Multipara Monitors, ECG Machines, Ventilator and a Defibrillator. There’s also a pharmacy inside the campus. Medicines are provided as per the doctor’s prescriptions. In addition, an Ambulance facility and on-campus pharmacy are also available on a 24×7 basis.
17. My father is working in the UAE and is an NRI. Am I eligible to apply as NRI
JGU has no separate admission policy for NRI’s/ Foreign Students. All applicants have to follow the same guidelines on eligibility and fee structure.
Undergraduate Admissions
18. When will applications open for the Undergraduate Programme commencing in August 2023?

19. How can I apply to Undergraduate Programme commencing in August 2023?
Candidates are required to fill out the Undergraduate Application Form in order to apply for the programme. The Application Form is available online on our website. Please https://admissions.jgu.edu.in/lp/2022.html to apply.
20. Do I need to submit official transcripts and certificates when I apply?

For students who have passed class 12th, It is mandatory for them to upload the 10th and 12th mark sheets and other relevant documents while applying to any course at JGU. Students appearing for class 12th will have to upload class 10th documents and choose “appearing” for class 12th in the relevant column. It is also advised to upload certificate/s of achievement of any other activities undertaken by students to make their candidature strong

21. What are the criteria for selection into the Undergraduate Programme?

O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) pursues a holistic admissions policy for all programmes. This is to understand a student’s personality beyond numbers and meet expectations from both sides. This is in keeping with the best practices of international universities and allows us to select the best applicants for our programmes. 22. What are the academic scores that have to be submitted for evaluation?
Since an undergraduate programme requires the student to have cleared a minimum class 12th. The scores to be submitted will be class 10th and 12th. For students who are yet to appear for the class 12th exam, a prediction of class 12th score is to be furnished during the evaluation process.
23. What are the predicted grades/scores?
Students who are awaiting their grade 12th final/ board exam results are required to submit their predicted grades. Predicted grades are supposed to be an accurate estimation of a student’s final grades. For students from the IB, Cambridge, and other International boards, the school counsellor must submit the predicted grades on behalf of the student. The process to do this is mentioned in the application form. Students from other boards may submit their predictions, or share the school counsellor’s predictions.
24. How can I check the status of my application?
When you submit your Application Form, you will receive an automated email saying that your application has been submitted. After the application submission, if you have been shortlisted for the Interview Round, you will receive the interview invitation via email on your registered email ID.
25. What if I am unable to make payment against the application fee? Is there any alternate to the same?
Payment for the application fee can be done through credit card, debit card or net banking/. Additionally, if there is any issue with the above mentioned payment methods, a voucher is issued to the student and the payment can be done through a paytm link shared. Respective admissions counsellor can be contacted for the vouchers.
26. Do I have to give JSAT right now or wait until I get the result for the next step of the admission process? If so, please let me know when I will be notified of the same?
We suggest you to register for the JSAT after the submission of the application form, the committee reviews the supplementary answers and mark sheets. Students found eligible for round 2 (Appearing for the Entrance Exam) are notified through e-mail.
27. I have my JSAT scheduled for tomorrow and have not received the Admit Card until now. How to download the admit card?
JSAT is an online proctored exam. After successful completion of the registration process, an automated confirmation email is sent within 24 hours. Login credentials are shared on their registered mail id. In case of any discrepancy, you can reach out to your respective counsellor.
28. How can I book a time slot for JSAT for the second time
To appear for the second attempt of JSAT, the schedule booking process is the same as the first one. Please Note: A maximum of 3 attempts can be taken to clear JSAT
29. I’ve filled out the application and paid the fee. Now I want to know the topics which will come for the exam?

JSAT is an online home-proctored exam that allows the candidate to write this exam safely at home. The candidate would be exempted from JSAT if the candidate has at par SAT/ACT scores. This test is comprised of 120 Multiple Choice Questions covering logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude (Math), and verbal ability (English). Weightage for each category will be based on the chosen JGU programme of study.

30. When can I get my JSAT results by approximately?
JSAT result is usually declared between 48 to 72 hours of appearing in the examination. The student is informed over email whether he/she has passed the exam.
31. Is it possible to apply before obtaining the grade XII final/ board exam scores?

Yes! Students due to appear in class 12th examination the current year are eligible to apply.

32. Is JSAT the only Entrance examination that can be considered for admission to O.P. Jindal Global University.

JGU conducts multiple screening tests to evaluate the candidature of prospective students and to check whether an applicant is a good fit in a programme. Along with University level entrance exams, we also accept at par scores of some competitive tests like SAT and ACT.

Following mentioned entrance exams are required for admissions to various JGU programmes.

JSAT is an Online and Remote-Proctored Entrance Exam administered by Pearson VUE. The JSAT scores will be accepted for seeking admissions into following undergraduate programmes for academic year 2022.

Jindal Art Aptitude Test (JAAT)

The JAAT is a Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ) test specifically designed for students applying for BFA(Hons.) Programme. It has 90 questions and needs to be completed in 90 minutes. It is divided into two sections: To know more about JAAT, please click here .

Jindal Creative Aptitude Test – JCAT

JCAT is an online home proctored qualifying examination for admission into the following courses of Jindal School of Art and Architecture:

  • Bachelor of Design (B. Des.)- Urban & Community
  • Bachelor of Design (B. Des.) – Interior

Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) – Students for admission to the 5-year B. Arch programme at JSAA will be selected on the basis of their performance in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) and Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Paper 2.

33. What is the weightage is given to each component – scores, extracurricular, SOP, and interview – in the final admissions decision?

There are no pre-fixed formulae used to weigh a student’s performance during the selection criteria in any of the courses. Overall performance is considered to select a student. Students may get selected after scoring a minimum of 55% in JSAT and may also not get selected after scoring 80% in JSAT.

34. How to get the application number?

The application Number (Alpha Numeric) gets generated after making the payment of Rs.3000/- towards the application fee. E.g. AABA220165 or PCUG220228. In case of any clarifications, you can reach out to your school counsellor.

Master's Admissions
35. When will applications open for the Master's programmes commencing in August 2023?

JGU has started accepting applications for the academic year 2023, you may click https://jgu.edu.in/admissions/ or visit www.jgu.edu.in to apply.

36. What are the criteria for the selection of candidates for the Master's programme?
Any graduate student/ a student appearing in the final year of graduation in any stream is eligible to apply for a master’s programme with JGU. In addition to eligibility criteria (Refer here), a student must clear the online entrance test along with the faculty interaction to join the programme.
37. Which entrance test is considerable for Master courses of O.P Jindal Global University.

Applicants for the MAPP, M.A. Eco and MADLB must appear for an online entrance exam administered by the respective schools. These entrance exams will be conducted on a rolling basis. Please contact your course counsellors for more information.

For admission in M.A./M.Sc.Applied Psychology, applicants must appear in Jindal-PMAT (Psychology Masters Admissions Test)/GRE/GMAT/CAT

Entrance Examinations for MBA

Candidates applying for the MBA programme at JGBS must have successfully passed the following entrance examinations with the required minimum score.

CAT/MAT/XAT ≥ 50 Percentile | GRE ≥ 295 | GMAT ≥ 450 | NMAT ≥ 160

38. How can I check the status of my application for the Master's programme?

The student receives an automated email after submitting the completed application form. Once this is done a career counsellor is assigned to the student for further processing of the candidature for the course applied.

Scholarship and Refund Policy
39. Does JGU offer scholarships?
JGU offers only Merit cum Means Scholarships every year. University follows a comprehensive scholarship policy, which includes various parameters like family income, academic performance, participation in extra co-curricular activities. Based on these criteria there are different quantum of scholarships being offered to a student. Continuation of Scholarship for further years is dependent on the Academic Performance and Conduct of the student.
40. What are the criteria to apply for a scholarship?

O.P. Jindal Global University Awards Merit-cum-Means Scholarships (MCM). The MCM Scholarships is applicable only on first-year tuition fee. Scholarships applications are opened by the University in July and will be awarded to eligible students in August 2022. The eligibility criteria include Income proof of parents, grade XII score and faculty interview score.

*Family ITR should be less than INR 30 lakhs per annum in the latest returns. Scholarships are limited and offered only on the first-cum-first-serve basis.

41. What if my parent/guardian is not required to file an ITR?

As per the Income Tax Act, of 1961, families falling under the Low Income Group are exempted to file an ITR.

A student falling under the LIG category shall submit an affidavit on a stamp paper, stating the gross annual income and the source(s) of income (if the earning member is self-employed). For salaried employees Salary slips for the last six months’/salary certificate from the employer

42. I am an International Student and we do not file Income Tax Returns in my country. What am I required to submit?
International students are required to present any/all document(s) that they file with the government of their country that establishes the gross income and tax paid by individuals in your family or by the company owned and run by your family.
43. What is JGU’s refund policy?

44. Does JGU help to get an education loan?

 All courses offered by JGU are recognized and the degree awarded is acceptable worldwide. A student willing to apply for an education loan can approach any financial institution to secure an education loan. For additional help, JGU has established tie-ups with ICICI, Axis Bank and Credila-HDFC to facilitate educational loans for students who are admitted to the JGU.
